Key Items & Collectibles

Certain key items and collectibles are not directly used in combat but are vital for progression, unlocking secrets, or enhancing your Mother Base. These include:

• Blueprints/Schematics: As mentioned, these unlock new R&D projects. Always be on the lookout for them.
• Cassette Tapes: Provide backstory, character dialogue, and sometimes hints. Collecting them contributes to 100% completion.
• Uniforms/Camo: Unlock new outfits for Big Boss, offering tactical advantages.
• MSF Emblems: Hidden emblems throughout missions. Collecting them can unlock special items or achievements.
• Monster Hunter Items: Specific items dropped by Monster Hunter bosses, used to develop unique weapons and gear.

Many of these items are found by thoroughly exploring mission areas, completing specific Extra Ops, or achieving high ranks. The 'Database' in Mother Base is an excellent resource for tracking your progress on these collectibles. Dedicate time to finding them, as they often lead to powerful rewards or deeper insights into the game's lore.
