Beyond basic crouching and cover, Peace Walker offers several advanced stealth techniques:
- CQC Chain: Master the CQC chain to quickly take down multiple enemies silently. Tap the CQC button for a throw, then quickly tap again for another enemy.
- Interrogation: Hold an enemy in a chokehold and press the action button to interrogate them. They'll reveal enemy positions, item locations, and sometimes even blueprints.
- Distractions: Throw empty magazines or use the 'Knock' action (CQC + Directional Input) to create noise and distract guards.
- Cardboard Box Tactics: Not just for hiding! Use the Cardboard Box to slide down slopes, or combine it with the Love Box to lure enemies into traps.
- Sound Dampening: Equip the Sneaking Suit to reduce footstep noise. Move slowly (light analog stick input) for maximum silence.
- Environmental Kills: Push enemies off ledges or into hazards for silent, lethal takedowns (though this affects your non-lethal score).
Practicing these techniques in Extra Ops will significantly improve your ability to achieve S-ranks and avoid detection in challenging missions.
