Episode 6: Where do the bees sleep?

This mission introduces you to the concept of extracting prisoners and offers a good opportunity to practice stealth and non-lethal takedowns. Your primary objective is to extract Malak, a prisoner held at the Ghwandai Town camp. There are also several optional objectives that can significantly boost your GMP and S-Rank potential.

Mission Prep & Loadout

  • Time of Day: Deploy at 18:00 (dusk) for optimal visibility and stealth opportunities.
  • Buddy: D-Dog is highly recommended for marking enemies and resources, making infiltration much easier.
  • Weapons:
    • Primary: Tranq Pistol (WU S.Pistol) with suppressor.
    • Secondary: Non-lethal assault rifle (e.g., AM MRS-4R with rubber bullets) or a sniper rifle for long-range enemy removal.
    • Support: Fulton Recovery Device (essential for prisoner extraction).
  • Items: Binoculars, Cardboard Box (useful for quick concealment), Night Vision Goggles (if deploying at night).

Infiltration & Prisoner Extraction

  1. Initial Approach:
    • From your deployment zone, head directly east towards Ghwandai Town.
    • Utilize D-Dog to mark all enemies, resources, and the prisoner's location within the camp.
    • Approach the camp from the west or southwest for the most discreet entry. There's a small ridge overlooking the camp that provides an excellent vantage point for scouting.
  2. Neutralizing Guards:
    • There are approximately 8-10 guards patrolling Ghwandai Town. Prioritize silent takedowns using your tranq pistol.
    • Pay special attention to the guard patrolling the main road and the one near the prisoner's cell.
    • Consider using your binoculars to tag guards and observe their patrol routes before engaging.
    • If you have a sniper rifle, you can pick off isolated guards from a distance, but ensure you have a clear shot and won't alert others.
  3. Locating Malak:
    • Malak is held in a small, dilapidated building on the eastern side of the camp, identifiable by its slightly more enclosed structure compared to other tents.
    • D-Dog will automatically mark him once you are close enough.
  4. Extracting Malak:
    • Once you reach Malak, approach him and initiate the Fulton Recovery Device.
    • Ensure the area directly above him is clear of any overhead obstructions (like power lines) before Fultoning.
    • After Malak is extracted, the primary objective is complete.

Optional Objectives & S-Rank Strategy

To achieve an S-Rank, focus on speed, stealth, and completing optional objectives. The key is to be efficient and avoid alerts.

  • Extract Malak: (Primary Objective) This is your main goal.
  • Extract the 2 prisoners held at Ghwandai Town:
    • The first prisoner is Malak.
    • The second prisoner is located in a tent on the northern side of the camp, often guarded by a single soldier. Use D-Dog to pinpoint his exact location.
    • Extract both using the Fulton Recovery Device.
  • Extract the commander of the guard post north of Ghwandai Town:
    • After extracting Malak, head north from Ghwandai Town.
    • You'll encounter a small guard post. The commander is usually distinguishable by his red beret or slightly different uniform. D-Dog will also mark him as a "target."
    • Neutralize him non-lethally and extract him via Fulton.
  • Extract the 3 tanks from the hot zone:
    • This objective is more challenging and requires careful planning.
    • The tanks are located at the Da Wialo Kallai village, southwest of Ghwandai Town, or sometimes patrolling the roads between areas.
    • You'll need to use C4 or other explosives to disable the tanks, then Fulton them. Alternatively, you can use the "Wormhole Fulton" upgrade if you have it, which allows Fultoning vehicles without needing to disable them first.
    • This objective is best attempted after completing the primary mission and returning to the area, or by deploying directly to Da Wialo Kallai if you're aiming for a specific S-Rank run focused on this.
  • Extract the 4 soldiers with high combat capabilities:
    • These soldiers are usually found patrolling Ghwandai Town or the surrounding guard posts.
    • D-Dog will highlight their higher stats when you mark them. Prioritize Fultoning these soldiers for your Mother Base staff.
  • Complete the mission without being detected:
    • This is crucial for an S-Rank. Move slowly, use cover, and always scout ahead with your binoculars or D-Dog.
    • If you are detected, reload your last checkpoint immediately.
  • Complete the mission without killing anyone:
    • Use your tranq pistol and CQC takedowns exclusively.
    • Fulton all neutralized enemies to avoid them waking up and potentially raising an alert.

Post-Mission Considerations

After successfully extracting Malak and any other desired personnel, you can either call for an extraction from a safe LZ or continue exploring the area for additional resources or side ops. Remember to develop new gear and recruit more staff to Mother Base with your newly acquired GMP and personnel.
