The Lord of Dust is one of the first major boss encounters you'll face, typically appearing during a critical main story mission in a large dust zone. This creature is a massive, heavily armored Wanderer with powerful melee attacks and the ability to summon smaller Wanderers. Its primary weakness is its exposed back, which glows faintly when it's about to attack.

Phase 1: Melee Assault
In the first phase, the Lord of Dust will primarily use sweeping melee attacks and ground slams. These attacks are slow but deal significant damage. Your strategy should be to dodge these attacks and try to get behind it. Use a fast melee weapon like a Katana or a high-damage ranged weapon like a shotgun when its back is exposed. Be mindful of the smaller Wanderers it summons; eliminate them quickly to avoid being overwhelmed. Setting up a few fences can help funnel the smaller enemies.
Phase 2: Summoning & Charge
As its health depletes, the Lord of Dust will become more aggressive, summoning more Wanderers and occasionally performing a devastating charge attack. When it charges, try to get out of its path and then quickly reposition to attack its back. Explosives like grenades can be effective against groups of summoned Wanderers. Continue to focus fire on its back, especially after it completes an attack animation. Keep your stamina high for dodging and sprinting. Rewards for defeating it include rare crafting materials and a significant amount of Kuban Energy.
