The Sands of Time — MetaMorph Walkthrough
This section covers key puzzles and navigation challenges across various levels, including the Village, Tower, Procedure, and Harbor. You'll learn how to manipulate time, solve environmental puzzles, and unlock several achievements by following specific steps and interactions with characters and objects.
- The Village and Tower:
- To get into the Tower, use the fallen seal holder to reach a stuck drawer. Recharge your sticky legs and position yourself on the top-left end of the folded paper.
- Time your movements to climb the moving cabinets. Sprint-climb by holding Shift (L). If you fall, you can climb back up.
- Climb the first cabinet, run to its other side to recharge sticky feet, then jump-climb the second, faster cabinet.
- Cross a big hole by carefully going down a conveniently placed pen.
- Walk to the 'Tower' sigil and enter the cabinet it marks to walk into the light.
- The Procedure:
- At the end of a hallway, a bureaucrat won't help. Use the 'Tower' flier to exit, then go left, down, and cross the chasm using a pencil.
- Talk to the group of intellectual bugs. One will direct you to a conveyor belt going up, found by sticking to the cabinets ahead.
- Lawyer's Office:
- To open the door, find the key in the topmost right drawer.
- To reach the door handle, get off the desk, return to your entry point, and climb the pile of books to the drawer next to the door.
- To reach a letter on a desk, climb the contorted chair, then jump to the small twisted arm by sprinting and holding the jump button.
- Follow the path: go right towards the pile of chairs using the first diversion, jump down to the lower section with metal pieces, continue to the next chair using a small wooden piece as a bridge.
- From the chair's left corner, use the wooden piece to go forward, then walk left, then right, to enter a drawer.
- Harbor:
- After returning to the Harbor, descend and speak with Charon. He will take you to 'Tower'. Walk to his boat via the path to your right to unlock the Shiver me timbers! achievement.
- To fix the clock showing 1:35, find the rotary close to the queue. Get on top of it and walk in place until the clock shows 2:15 to unlock the Appointment time achievement.
- General Movement & Puzzles:
- Walk into yellowish liquid to make your legs sticky, allowing temporary wall climbing. Reapply as needed.
- Use a pencil as a bridge to reach the history book, then climb it by holding the climb button.
- Carefully exit the broken desk's left side. Use two pencils to reach a letter.
- After turning off the fan for Siegfried, "speed up" time.
- Final Steps:
- In the Tower, use the indicator to floor 0, listen to Josef, then move to floor 1. Get his document and sign it.
- Move to floor 3 and send the document to get the Josef Who? achievement.
- You will be imprisoned. Talk to your cellmate, press the button, and follow the glowing words to escape through the window.
- Return to the bedroom where the adventure began. Read the letter on your desktop.
- When someone knocks, find the key in the top right drawer to open the door and unlock the Metamorphosis achievement.
