Combat in MetaMorph is dynamic and relies heavily on your ability to adapt. Your human form is versatile but lacks the specialized strengths of your animal forms. Basic attacks are your primary damage source, while special abilities consume 'Essence' (your energy bar). Dodging is crucial for avoiding incoming damage and repositioning.

Shapeshifting Fundamentals:

  • Prime Forms: These are your main animal transformations (Bear, Lynx, Owl, etc.). Each has unique stats, basic attacks, and a powerful special ability.
  • Minor Forms: Smaller, utility-focused transformations (e.g., 'Rat Form' for squeezing through gaps, 'Hawk Form' for scouting). They typically have no combat abilities.
  • Essence Cost: Shifting into a Prime Form consumes a small amount of Essence. Maintaining a form also drains Essence slowly.
  • Form Synergy: Some enemies are vulnerable to specific forms or elemental damage types associated with certain forms. Experiment to find weaknesses.
  • Cooldowns: Special abilities have cooldowns. Manage them effectively.

Practice shifting between forms quickly. For example, you might start a fight in 'Lynx Form' for burst damage, then shift to 'Bear Form' to tank heavy hits, and finally to 'Owl Form' for ranged crowd control. The key is to understand each form's strengths and weaknesses and to use them strategically in battle. use environmental elements to your advantage, such as high ground or cover.
