Instead, Relic Pieces are often awarded for completing challenging world events, defeating specific world bosses, or discovering hidden, well-guarded locations. Each Relic Piece grants a sificant passive bonus or unlocks a potent active ability that can dramatically alter your combat effectiveness. For example, the 'Shard of the Sunstone' might grant a powerful area-of-effect healing aura, while the 'Fragment of the Void' could unlock a devastating shadow-based attack. Collecting a set of Relic Pieces often unlocks even greater power, potentially leading to a unique Metamorphosis form or a powerful ultimate ability. The locations of these pieces are often hinted at through lore entries or cryptic clues found in the game world.
