Upon arriving in Cataris, you'll immediately notice the oppressive heat. Your first priority is to acquire the Varia Suit upgrade, which grants thermal protection. This will allow you to safely traverse the lava-filled areas. After obtaining the Varia Suit, continue your exploration to find the Morph Ball. The Morph Ball is a classic Metroid ability, allowing Samus to curl into a small sphere and access narrow passages. Look for a Chozo statue that grants this ability, often after a short puzzle or enemy encounter. These two upgrades are essential for progressing through Cataris.
