Enemy Database

Welcome to the Metroid Fusion Enemy Database! This section provides detailed information and strategies for dealing with the various X-Parasite infected creatures you'll encounter aboard the B.S.L. research station. Understanding your foes is crucial for survival, especially when facing the more aggressive and dangerous forms.

Each entry will cover:

  • Location: Where you can expect to find this enemy.
  • Behavior: How the enemy moves and attacks.
  • Weaknesses: Specific attacks or strategies that are particularly effective.
  • Drops: What resources (health, missiles) the X-Parasite form of the enemy will yield upon defeat.

Remember, every enemy in Metroid Fusion is an X-Parasite host. Defeating them releases the X-Parasite, which you must absorb to replenish your health and missiles. Failing to absorb an X-Parasite allows it to regenerate the enemy, often in a more powerful form, or to infect another creature.

Early Game Threats (Sectors 1 & 2)

Zebesian (Green)

  • Location: Main Deck, Sector 1 (SRX), Sector 2 (TRO)
  • Behavior: These common enemies patrol platforms or ceilings. They fire slow-moving projectiles horizontally.
  • Weaknesses: A single shot from your Arm Cannon will dispatch them. Charge Shots are overkill but effective.
  • Drops: Small X-Parasites (usually 5 health).

Mochtroid

  • Location: Main Deck, Sector 1 (SRX), Sector 2 (TRO)
  • Behavior: These small, green, bipedal creatures scuttle along the ground. They are aggressive and will attempt to ram Samus.
  • Weaknesses: One or two shots from the Arm Cannon will defeat them. They are easily stunned by a single shot.
  • Drops: Small X-Parasites (usually 5 health).

Puyos

  • Location: Sector 1 (SRX), Sector 2 (TRO)
  • Behavior: These gelatinous blobs cling to walls and ceilings. They drop down when Samus passes underneath, attempting to land on her.
  • Weaknesses: A single Arm Cannon shot will destroy them before they can drop. If they drop, shoot them as they fall.
  • Drops: Small X-Parasites (usually 5 health).

Hornoad

  • Location: Sector 1 (SRX), Sector 2 (TRO)
  • Behavior: Large, frog-like creatures that hop around. They can spit projectiles.
  • Weaknesses: Two to three regular Arm Cannon shots, or a single Charge Shot. Aim for their head.
  • Drops: Medium X-Parasites (usually 10 health).

Mid-Game Challenges (Sectors 3 & 4)

Sidehopper

  • Location: Sector 3 (PYR), Sector 4 (AQA)
  • Behavior: These insect-like creatures jump erratically, often in an arc. They can be difficult to hit due to their unpredictable movement.
  • Weaknesses: A well-aimed Charge Shot or a few rapid Arm Cannon shots will take them down. Using the Diffusion Missile (once acquired) can clear groups effectively.
  • Drops: Medium X-Parasites (usually 10 health).

Fune

  • Location: Sector 4 (AQA) - Underwater areas
  • Behavior: Fish-like creatures that swim in predictable patterns. They are generally not aggressive but can damage Samus on contact.
  • Weaknesses: A single Arm Cannon shot will defeat them. The underwater environment makes precise aiming slightly more challenging.
  • Drops: Small X-Parasites (usually 5 health).

Skultera

  • Location: Sector 4 (AQA) - Underwater areas
  • Behavior: More aggressive fish than Fune, Skultera will actively pursue Samus. They can be quite fast.
  • Weaknesses: Two to three Arm Cannon shots or a single Charge Shot. The Speed Booster can be used to ram them if you're quick.
  • Drops: Medium X-Parasites (usually 10 health).

Late Game Threats (Sectors 5 & 6)

Cacatac

  • Location: Sector 5 (ARC)
  • Behavior: These spiky, rolling enemies move quickly across floors and ceilings. They are invulnerable from the front when rolling.
  • Weaknesses: Wait for them to uncurl and expose their soft underside, then hit them with a Charge Shot or a few regular shots. Missiles are also effective.
  • Drops: Large X-Parasites (usually 20 health).

Zebbo

  • Location: Sector 6 (NOC)
  • Behavior: Flying creatures that patrol specific areas. They often move in figure-eight patterns or straight lines, firing projectiles.
  • Weaknesses: A few Arm Cannon shots or a single Charge Shot will bring them down. The Plasma Beam (once acquired) makes short work of them.
  • Drops: Medium X-Parasites (usually 10 health).

Core-X (Various Forms)

  • Location: Found after defeating certain mini-bosses and main bosses.
  • Behavior: The true form of the X-Parasite, these cores float around, often firing projectiles or attempting to ram Samus. They are invulnerable until their outer shell is damaged.
  • Weaknesses:
  • Initial Phase: Use Missiles to damage the outer shell. The number of missiles required varies by Core-X.
  • Vulnerable Phase: Once the shell is broken, the core turns into a naked X-Parasite. Absorb it immediately to gain the power-up it guards.
  • Drops: Specific power-ups (e.g., Charge Beam, Varia Suit, Space Jump, etc.).
