The Prologue: A Fateful Encounter

Your journey begins with a routine biological survey on SR388, the homeworld of the Metroids. During this mission, Samus Aran is attacked by a parasitic lifeform known as the X Parasite. This encounter proves near-fatal, as the X quickly infects her central nervous system. Her Power Suit, now compromised and fused to her body, is surgically removed, but the X infection persists. In a desperate attempt to save her life, scientists at the Galactic Federation administer a vaccine derived from the last remaining Metroid larva, which Samus herself had adopted and then sacrificed to save the galaxy. This vaccine not only cures her but also grants her immunity to the X Parasite and the ability to absorb them for health and missile replenishment.

The remnants of her infected Power Suit are sent to the orbiting Biologic Space Laboratories (B.S.L.) research station for study. However, the X Parasite, having replicated within the suit, escapes containment and begins to infest the entire station, mimicking the organisms it consumes. This leads to the B.S.L. station being quarantined and deemed a critical threat.

First Mission: Main Deck Mayhem

Your initial objective is to investigate the B.S.L. station. The computer, your primary guide, will direct you to the Main Deck. Here, you'll immediately encounter the devastating effects of the X Parasite. Your first critical task is to reach the Navigation Room to receive further instructions. Along the way, you'll notice that your abilities are severely limited due to the surgical removal of your Power Suit components. You'll only have access to your basic Arm Cannon and a very limited jump. The X Parasites, in their various forms, will be your primary enemies.

• No Direct Combat (Initially): Do not attempt to fight the SA-X until much later in the game when the narrative dictates it. It will instantly defeat you.
