Your mission will involve navigating the damaged sections of Sector 1 (SRX), bypassing a failing generator, and ultimately gaining access to the Diffusion Missile upgrade, a crucial tool for your continued survival.

The path ahead requires careful exploration, precise platforming, and strategic engagement with the X Parasite threats that now infest the station. Be prepared for encounters with familiar enemies, now empowered by the X, and new environmental hazards.

Phase 1: Navigating the Damaged Sector & Locating the Generator Bypass

Your journey begins from the Navigation Room where you received your updated objective. Head left and descend through the vertical shaft. The power instability will be immediately apparent, with flickering lights and non-functional doors.

Step 1: Reach the Generator Room Entrance. From the Navigation Room, proceed left through the door. Drop down the vertical shaft, then continue left through another door. You'll find yourself in a large, multi-level room.
Step 2: Ascend to the Upper Levels. Utilize your Wall Jump ability to scale the left wall of this large room. Alternatively, if you've already acquired the Space Jump, you can easily reach the upper platforms. Your goal is the door located on the upper-left side of this room.
Step 3: Enter the Generator Access Corridor. Pass through the upper-left door. You'll enter a corridor with several small, flying enemies (likely Mute or Zebbo X Parasites). Dispatch them carefully.
Step 4: Locate the Damaged Generator. Continue left through this corridor. You'll soon arrive at a room dominated by a large, sparking, and clearly malfunctioning generator. The power conduit leading from it is visibly severed or damaged, indicating the source of the station's power issues.

Phase 2: Bypassing the Generator and Activating the New Path

The generator itself cannot be repaired directly at this stage. Your objective is to find an alternative power conduit or a bypass mechanism that can restore power to the Security Room. This involves a bit of environmental puzzle-solving.

Step 1: Discover the Hidden Passage. In the generator room, observe the ceiling directly above the damaged generator. There's a subtle crack or discoloration. This indicates a destructible block. Fire a missile or charge shot upwards at this spot.
Step 2: Access the Ventilation Shaft. Once the block is destroyed, a small, narrow shaft will open up. Morph Ball into this shaft and proceed upwards.
Step 3: Navigate the Ventilation System. The ventilation shaft is a short, linear path. You'll encounter a few Puyo X Parasites, which are easily dispatched. Continue through the shaft until you emerge in a new, small room.
Step 4: Activate the Power Conduit Switch. In this new room, you'll find a console with a prominent, glowing switch. This is the bypass switch for the generator. Approach the console and interact with it (press 'A' or 'B' depending on your control scheme). Activating this switch will reroute power, bypassing the damaged generator and restoring auxiliary power to critical systems, including the Security Room.

Upon activation, you'll hear a distinct hum, and the lights in the immediate area will stabilize. The computer will chime in, confirming that auxiliary power has been restored to the Security Room and that a new path has been opened, leading to the Diffusion Missile upgrade.

Phase 3: Reaching the Diffusion Missile Upgrade

With power restored, new areas become accessible. Your next goal is to claim the Diffusion Missile, a crucial upgrade that allows your missiles to explode with a wider radius, destroying multiple blocks or enemies simultaneously.

Step 1: Return to the Main Corridor. Exit the generator bypass room and retrace your steps back through the ventilation shaft and the generator room. Continue right, back into the large, multi-level room where you ascended earlier.
Step 2: Access the Newly Opened Door. Descend to the bottom-right of this large room. You'll notice a previously inaccessible door (it might have been locked or unpowered) is now open. Pass through it.
Step 3: Navigate the New Path. This new path will lead you through a series of corridors and rooms. Expect encounters with Zebbo and Mute X Parasites. Some rooms may feature environmental puzzles requiring precise jumps or Morph Ball maneuvers.
Step 4: Locate the Diffusion Missile Upgrade. Continue following this path. Eventually, you will arrive in a room containing the Diffusion Missile upgrade capsule. Approach it and absorb the upgrade.

Diffusion Missile Upgrade Details:

Effect: Missiles now explode with a larger radius, capable of destroying multiple adjacent blocks or damaging several enemies in a small area.
Usage: Essential for breaking specific types of Diffusion Missile Blocks (often indicated by a distinct pattern or color) and for clearing groups of weaker enemies efficiently.
Strategy Tip: Experiment with the Diffusion Missile on groups of enemies. It can save you time and energy. Also, keep an eye out for blocks that previously seemed impassable; the Diffusion Missile is often the key.

Common Pitfalls & Tips:

Missing the Destructible Block: The hidden passage above the generator can be easy to overlook if you don't carefully inspect the ceiling. Always look for subtle cracks or inconsistencies in the environment.
Enemy Encounters: The X Parasites in this sector are relatively common. Remember to absorb the core X after defeating an enemy to restore health and missiles.
