With the Spider Ball in hand, you can now access deeper parts of SR388. This area introduces more complex platforming challenges and new enemy types. You'll also encounter the next stage of Metroid evolution: the Alpha Metroid.
Utilize your Spider Ball to navigate vertical shafts and reach previously inaccessible ledges. Keep an eye out for crumbling blocks and hidden passages that might lead to valuable power-ups. The environment becomes more alien and hostile as you descend further.
