Description
The most basic form of Metroid. Small, jellyfish-like creatures that float through the air. They attempt to latch onto Samus and drain her energy.
Phases
None. They have a single attack pattern.
Weaknesses
Vulnerable to all attacks, but missiles are most effective for quickly dislodging them if they latch on.
Strategy
Fire rapidly with your Arm Cannon. If one latches onto you, quickly switch to Missiles and fire to dislodge it and deal significant damage. A few direct hits with missiles will destroy them. They are relatively easy to defeat, serving as an introduction to Metroid combat.
Rewards
Receding lava level, opening new paths.
