Colossal and incredibly powerful, these are the largest Metroids before the Queen. They are slow but deal massive damage with their fire breath and powerful charges.

Weaknesses
Missiles are paramount. Screw Attack is highly recommended. Vulnerable when their mouth is open or underbelly exposed.
Strategy
Omega Metroids are a true test of your accumulated power. They will lumber towards you, spitting fire and attempting to charge. Use the Screw Attack to your advantage, jumping through them to deal damage while invulnerable. When their mouth is open to breathe fire, unleash a barrage of missiles and charged shots. Their underbelly is also a weak point. Conserve your Energy Tanks, as you'll likely take significant damage during these encounters. Patience and precise dodging are key.
