MB

The battle against MB is a multi-phase encounter that tests your agility and precise use of Samus's abilities. This fight occurs in the Main Sector's Control Room.

Phase 1: Defense Protocol

  • Initial Engagement: MB will begin by summoning several Geomers. Focus on eliminating these smaller threats quickly using your Charge Beam.
  • MB's Attacks: MB will primarily use a powerful ice beam. Dodge this by continuously moving and using your Sensemove.
  • Opening for Attack: After a few ice beam attacks, MB will briefly expose her core. This is your window! Unleash a fully charged Charge Beam shot followed by a barrage of missiles.
  • Repeat: Continue this pattern of dodging, eliminating Geomers, and attacking MB's core until she transitions to the next phase.

Phase 2: Offensive Protocol

  • Environmental Hazard: MB will now activate the room's defense systems, including laser grids. Pay close attention to their patterns and use your Morph Ball to navigate through tight spaces if necessary.
  • New Attack Pattern: MB will become more aggressive, often combining her ice beam with a rapid-fire energy attack. Prioritize dodging and maintaining distance.
  • Vulnerability: Her core will still be her weak point, but the windows of opportunity will be shorter. You might need to use a Concentration burst to quickly charge your beam for maximum damage.
  • Missile Barrage: Once you've dealt significant damage, MB will sometimes become stunned, offering a prolonged opportunity for a full Missile barrage. Don't hold back!

Phase 3: Final Stand

  • Desperation Attacks: MB will unleash her most powerful attacks, including a wide-area ice blast that can be difficult to avoid. Use Sensemove liberally.
  • Critical Opening: At a certain point, MB will charge a massive attack. This is your cue! You'll need to hit her with a fully charged Charge Beam, and then immediately follow up with a Super Missile. This will trigger a cinematic sequence.
  • Finishing Blow: During the cinematic, follow the on-screen prompts for a powerful melee attack to finish her off.

Metroid Queen

The Metroid Queen is the final boss of the game, found deep within the Bio-Research Lab. This multi-stage battle requires precise timing and resource management.

Phase 1: Head-On Assault

  • Initial Strategy: The Metroid Queen will primarily attack with her powerful jaws and a fire breath attack. Stay mobile and use Sensemove to evade her charges.
  • Weak Point: Her head is initially armored. You need to hit her with a few Missiles to break this armor.
  • Exposed Core: Once the armor is gone, her head will glow. This is your primary target. Unleash a volley of Charge Beam shots and Missiles.
  • Metroid Spawns: Periodically, the Queen will spawn smaller Metroids. These must be dealt with immediately as they can drain your energy. Use your Ice Beam to freeze them, then destroy them with a Missile.
  • Environmental Hazard: The arena itself has lava pools. Avoid falling in, as it will cause continuous damage.

Phase 2: Internal Attack

  • Queen's Vulnerability: After taking significant damage, the Metroid Queen will open her mouth wide and roar. This is your critical opportunity!
  • Morph Ball Entry: Quickly switch to Morph Ball mode and roll directly into her mouth.
  • Internal Target: Inside, you'll find her internal core. This is extremely vulnerable. Plant as many Power Bombs as you can, and fire your Charge Beam rapidly.
  • Escape: After a short period, the Queen will begin to convulse, indicating you need to exit her mouth immediately. Roll out before she closes it, or you'll take heavy damage.
  • Repeat: You will need to repeat this internal attack phase multiple times to defeat her.

Phase 3: Final Stand and Counterattack

  • Increased Aggression: In her final phase, the Metroid Queen will become much more aggressive, with faster attacks and more frequent Metroid spawns.
  • Focus on Survival: Prioritize dodging and eliminating the smaller Metroids to maintain your health.
  • Final Internal Attack: When she opens her mouth for the last time, this is your chance to finish her. Enter her mouth as a Morph Ball, and unleash everything you have. Use your remaining Power Bombs and rapid-fire Charge Beam shots.
  • Cinematic Finish: If you deal enough damage, a final cinematic sequence will trigger, allowing Samus to deliver the decisive blow.
