Gandrake is a large, reptilian creature found in the Geothermal Sector. This boss utilizes fire-based attacks and has a durable hide, requiring a different approach than Arachnus.
Phases & Attacks:
- Phase 1: Fire Breath & Tail Whip: Gandrake will breathe streams of fire across the arena and perform wide tail whips.
- Phase 2: Burrowing & Fireballs: After taking damage, it will burrow underground, emerging to spit fireballs or charge.
Strategy:
- Stay Mobile: Gandrake's fire breath covers a wide area. Continuously move and use SenseMove to avoid it.
- Target the Mouth: Its mouth is its weak point, especially when it's charging up a fire attack. Unleash Missiles into its mouth during these moments.
- Exploit Vulnerability: After a successful SenseMove against its charge, Gandrake might expose its belly. Hit it with a Charge Beam or Missile.
- Burrowing Counter: When it burrows, watch for tremors in the ground to predict its emergence. Be ready to dodge its charge.
- Power Bomb (Optional): If you have Power Bombs authorized, a well-placed one can deal significant damage and stun Gandrake, creating openings.
Patience is key here. Wait for openings, dodge its powerful fire attacks, and focus your Missiles on its vulnerable mouth. Don't get greedy with attacks; prioritize survival.
