Initial Deployment: Landing Zone Alpha

Upon your initial deployment to Planet Aetheria, you will find yourself in Landing Zone Alpha. Your primary objective here is to establish a secure foothold and locate the source of the distress signal. The area is relatively calm, but vigilance is always advised.

• Objective 1: Power Suit Calibration
  • Immediately upon landing, a brief tutorial sequence will initiate, guiding you through basic movement and scanning. Follow the on-screen prompts to calibrate your Power Suit and familiarize yourself with the controls.
  • Action: Scan the nearby Environmental Data Log (located on a rock formation to your left) to gain your first lore entry and 5% scan completion bonus.
• Objective 2: Locate the Access Terminal
  • Proceed forward through the short, winding canyon. You will encounter your first hostile entities: Fission Metroids. These are weak but can be overwhelming in numbers.
  • Strategy: Utilize your Power Beam to dispatch them quickly. A single charged shot is often sufficient.
  • The Access Terminal is situated within a small alcove at the end of the canyon. Interact with it to download preliminary planetary data.

Acquiring Essential Gear: The Morph Ball

Your next crucial step is to acquire the Morph Ball, an indispensable tool for navigating tight spaces and uncovering hidden pathways. Without it, progress will be severely limited.

• Objective 3: Navigate to the Ancient Ruins
  • After interacting with the Access Terminal, a previously locked door to your right will now be accessible. Proceed through it.
  • You will enter the Ancient Ruins Approach, a slightly larger area with crumbling structures. Be wary of War Wasps nesting in the higher ledges.
  • Strategy: Use your Lock-On feature (Z-target) to track War Wasps and eliminate them with precise Power Beam shots.
• Objective 4: Retrieve the Morph Ball Upgrade
  • Follow the main path through the Ancient Ruins Approach. You will eventually reach a large chamber known as the Morph Ball Chamber.
  • The Morph Ball Upgrade is prominently displayed on a pedestal in the center of the room. Approach and interact with it to integrate it into your Power Suit.
  • Action: Immediately test your new ability by rolling into the small tunnel located on the far side of the Morph Ball Chamber. This will lead you to a hidden Energy Tank (100% health increase!), a vital early-game pickup.

First Encounter: Sentinel Drone

With the Morph Ball acquired, you are now ready to face your first significant challenge and truly test your combat prowess.

• Objective 5: Confront the Sentinel Drone
  • Upon exiting the Morph Ball tunnel with your new Energy Tank, the chamber will seal, and a Sentinel Drone will activate. This is your first mini-boss encounter.
  • Sentinel Drone Strategy:
    1. The Sentinel Drone has a heavily armored front. Do NOT waste shots on its frontal plating.
    2. Its weak point is a glowing Energy Core located on its back.
    3. Utilize your Morph Ball to roll under the drone when it charges, allowing you to get behind it.
    4. Once behind, quickly revert to normal form and unleash a volley of Power Beam shots into its Energy Core.
    5. Repeat this process. The drone will periodically launch Seeker Missiles; these can be shot down or dodged with a well-timed dash.
    6. After several successful attacks on its Energy Core, the Sentinel Drone will explode, clearing the path forward.
