The Ice Beam is a critical upgrade found in Area 2. To reach it, you'll need to defeat several more Gamma Metroids and navigate a series of challenging rooms. Look for a large, ornate chamber marked on your map after you've cleared a certain number of Metroids in the area. The Ice Beam allows you to freeze enemies, which is not only useful for combat but also for creating temporary platforms to reach otherwise inaccessible areas. Once acquired, immediately test it out on some of the flying enemies in the area. The Ice Beam is also essential for defeating certain Metroid variants and bosses later in the game, so mastering its use is paramount. It will also be required to open certain Ice Beam doors.
