Mother Brain is the final boss of Zebes, located in Tourian. This battle has two distinct phases and requires careful resource management. You should have all major suit upgrades and a good supply of Missiles and Super Missiles.
Phase 1: Brain in Casing
- Attacks: Turrets on the walls fire projectiles, and Rinkas (fireballs) fly across the screen.
- Strategy: Destroy the turrets with your Power Beam to temporarily stop their attacks. Then, focus all your Missiles and Super Missiles on the glass casing protecting Mother Brain. Dodge the Rinkas.
- Weakness: The glass casing is vulnerable to Missiles and Super Missiles.
Phase 2: Exposed Mother Brain
- Attacks: Mother Brain's exposed eye fires a powerful, sweeping laser beam.
- Strategy: Once the casing is destroyed, Mother Brain's brain is exposed. Jump onto the rising platforms in the lava to get a clear shot. Continuously fire Missiles and Super Missiles into her brain. Dodge her laser by moving between platforms or jumping over it.
- Weakness: Mother Brain's exposed brain is vulnerable to Missiles and Super Missiles.
This is an endurance fight. Conserve your energy, dodge the laser, and unleash all your firepower on her brain. Victory here triggers the self-destruct sequence.
