Space Pirate Mothership: Zero Suit Infiltration

Welcome to the most vulnerable Samus will ever be! Stripped of your Power Suit, you're now in your Zero Suit, armed only with a low-power Paralyzer Stun Gun. Stealth and evasion are paramount. Any direct confrontation with a Space Pirate will result in a quick Game Over. Your goal is to navigate the Mothership, locate your Gunship, and reclaim your power.

Navigating the Mothership

The Mothership is a labyrinth of corridors and ventilation shafts, crawling with Space Pirates. Your Paralyzer Stun Gun can temporarily incapacitate enemies, but it has limited range and a slow recharge. Use it strategically to create openings, but prioritize avoiding detection.

Initial Escape and Ventilation Shafts

  • After the cutscene, you'll find yourself in a small room. Immediately head left.
  • Crawl through the narrow passage. You'll emerge in a larger room with a Space Pirate patrolling.
  • Strategy: Wait for the Pirate to turn its back, then quickly move past it. If you're spotted, fire your Paralyzer to stun it and run.
  • Continue left and drop down into a ventilation shaft. These shafts are your best friend for avoiding patrols.
  • Follow the ventilation shaft, moving right. You'll eventually drop out into another room.

The First Energy Tank and Stealth Maneuvers

  • In this new room, head right. You'll encounter another Space Pirate.
  • Strategy: Use the crates and other environmental elements as cover. Observe patrol patterns. Sometimes, waiting patiently is the best approach.
  • Continue right, and you'll find an Energy Tank hidden behind some breakable blocks. You can't break these with your Zero Suit, but there's usually a hidden path or a way to lure an enemy to break them for you later. For now, just note its location.
  • Proceed through the door to the right. You'll enter a vertical shaft.
  • Climb up the shaft, being mindful of any patrolling Pirates. There might be a Pirate on a higher platform.
  • Strategy: If a Pirate is blocking your path, try to lure it away or stun it and quickly climb past.
  • At the top, head left. You'll find a save station. Save your game here! This section can be unforgiving.

Finding the Gunship

  • From the save station, continue left. You'll enter a large, open area with multiple platforms and more Space Pirates.
  • Strategy: This area requires careful timing. Use the platforms to your advantage, dropping down to lower levels or climbing to higher ones to avoid patrols. Remember your Wall Jump!
  • Your objective is to reach the upper-left portion of this large room. Look for a door that leads further into the Mothership.
  • Once through that door, you'll find yourself in a series of smaller corridors. Keep moving left.
  • You'll eventually reach a room with a large, distinctive door. This is the entrance to the area where your Gunship is being held.
  • Enter the room. You'll see your Gunship, but it's guarded.
  • Strategy: There will be a final, challenging sequence of dodging Pirates to reach the Gunship. Use your Paralyzer only when absolutely necessary and focus on movement.
  • Once you reach your Gunship, a cutscene will trigger, and you'll regain your Power Suit! Congratulations, the hardest part of the infiltration is over.

Key Zero Suit Survival Tips

  • Stealth is King: Avoid direct confrontation at all costs.
  • Paralyzer Use: Use your stun gun sparingly. It has limited shots and a slow recharge. Only use it to create an escape route or to temporarily disable a blocking enemy.
  • Observe Patrols: Take a moment to watch enemy movement patterns before attempting to pass.
  • Utilize the Environment: Crawl spaces, ventilation shafts, and platforms are your best friends.
  • Wall Jump: Don't forget you can still Wall Jump in your Zero Suit. This is crucial for navigating vertical shafts and reaching higher platforms.
  • Save Often: Use every save station you encounter. This section is designed to be challenging.
