Mother Brain is the final boss of Zebes. She is housed in a large chamber, protected by a glass casing and surrounded by turrets and Rinkas. This battle has two distinct phases.
Phase 1: Brain in Casing
- Objective: Destroy the glass casing protecting Mother Brain.
- Tactics: Shoot the turrets on the walls with your Power Beam to temporarily disable them. Then, focus all your Missiles and Super Missiles on the glass casing. Dodge the Rinkas and the projectiles from the turrets.
- Weakness: The glass casing is vulnerable to Missiles and Super Missiles.
Phase 2: Exposed Mother Brain
- Objective: Destroy Mother Brain's exposed brain.
- Tactics: Once the casing is destroyed, Mother Brain's brain will be exposed. She will attack with a powerful laser beam from her eye. Jump onto the platforms that rise from the lava and continuously fire Missiles and Super Missiles into her brain.
- Weakness: Mother Brain's exposed brain is vulnerable to Missiles and Super Missiles.
This is a test of endurance and dodging. Stay focused, keep firing, and avoid her devastating laser. Once Mother Brain is defeated, the self-destruct sequence for Zebes will initiate, and you'll have a limited time to escape!
