Zebes is riddled with hidden rooms and secret passages, often containing valuable Missile Tanks, Energy Tanks, or even entire new areas. Many of these are concealed behind destructible blocks that blend seamlessly with the environment. Always be on the lookout for suspicious-looking blocks, especially in dead ends or above seemingly unreachable ledges.
- Shoot Everything: If a path seems blocked or an area looks empty, try shooting every wall, floor, and ceiling block with your Power Beam. Many destructible blocks will reveal themselves after a few shots.
- Bomb Suspicious Areas: In Morph Ball form, drop Bombs in areas that look like they might hide something. This is especially effective for revealing floor passages.
- Power Bomb for Secrets: Power Bombs are excellent for revealing large areas of destructible blocks, often uncovering multiple hidden passages or items at once. Use them strategically in large, empty rooms.
- Check the Map: The in-game map will show unexplored areas. If a room has an 'unexplored' section, there's likely a hidden path leading there.
Thorough exploration is key to finding all these secrets and achieving 100% item completion.
