Recommended Power-ups:
- Varia Suit: Highly recommended for surviving the heat of Norfair and Ridley's fire attacks.
- Missiles: Essential for dealing damage.
- Energy Tanks: At least 4-5 for survivability.
- Screw Attack: Optional, but can deal significant damage if timed correctly.
Phases & Attacks:
Ridley flies around the room, swooping down to attack Samus. His primary attacks include breathing fire in a stream and dropping fireballs from above. He moves quickly and can be difficult to hit consistently.
Strategy:
Ridley's weak point is his head. The most effective strategy is to continuously fire Missiles at his head as he flies across the screen. Utilize the platforms in the room to your advantage, jumping to avoid his fire attacks and to get better firing angles. If you have the Screw Attack, you can try to time your jumps to hit him while he's swooping, but this can be risky. Focus on dodging his attacks and landing consistent missile hits. It takes approximately 40-50 missiles to defeat him. Be patient, as this can be a prolonged battle. After defeating Ridley, the path to Tourian will be unlocked.
