Armor provides damage reduction from various sources. A full set (helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots) offers the best protection. Like tools, armor comes in different material tiers.
Armor Tiers:
- Leather: Weakest, dyeable.
- Chainmail: Slightly better, not craftable (found or traded).
- Iron: Good early-game protection.
- Gold: Weak, but good for Piglin bartering.
- Diamond: Strong, durable.
- Netherite: Strongest, most durable, fire-resistant, and knockback resistant.
