New Biomes

1. Deep Dark

The Deep Dark is a new underground biome found deep beneath the Overworld. It's characterized by its eerie atmosphere, sculk blocks, and the presence of the terrifying Warden. This biome is extremely dangerous and should be approached with caution.

  • Key Features:
    • Sculk Blocks: Sculk, Sculk Veins, Sculk Sensors, and Sculk Shriekers are found here. Sculk Sensors detect vibrations and can trigger Sculk Shriekers.
    • Sculk Shriekers: When activated by enough vibrations or by a Sculk Sensor, they emit a loud shriek. If a player is nearby when a shriek occurs, the Warden will be summoned.
    • Ancient Cities: These are massive, naturally generated structures found within the Deep Dark. They contain valuable loot but are heavily guarded by Sculk Shriekers and the Warden.
  • Challenges: The primary challenge is avoiding the Warden. Stealth is paramount; avoid making noise by walking, mining, or using items that create vibrations.
  • Loot: Ancient Cities can contain rare items like Echo Shards (used to craft the Recovery Compass), Disc Fragments (for music discs), and enchanted books.
2. Mangrove Swamp

The Mangrove Swamp is a new, vibrant biome found in warmer regions of the Overworld. It's characterized by its unique mangrove trees, red-tinted water, and abundant mud.

  • Key Features:
    • Mangrove Trees: These trees have unique root systems and produce Mangrove Propagules, which can be used to grow more mangrove trees. Their wood is a distinct red color.
    • Mud Blocks: Mud can be collected and crafted into Mud Bricks, a new building material.
    • Frogs: These passive mobs spawn in the Mangrove Swamp. They can eat small slimes and ghasts, and their tadpoles can grow into different frog variants depending on the biome.
    • Allay: This small, flying mob can be found in Pillager Outposts and Woodland Mansions. If given an item, the Allay will collect and bring back more of that item.
  • Exploration: This biome is great for gathering resources like wood, mud, and unique building materials. The Allay is a valuable companion for item collection.

New Mobs

  • The Warden: A powerful, blind mob that spawns in the Deep Dark when Sculk Shriekers are triggered. It has immense health and deals devastating damage. It is attracted to vibrations and smells.
