The Crawler is a highly agile and stealthy mutant that poses a significant threat in close-quarters combat, particularly indoors or in dense environments. They move quickly on all fours, often ambushing players from unexpected angles. Their small stature and erratic movement make them difficult to hit, and their attacks can quickly inflict bleeding.

Characteristics:
- Fast Movement: Extremely quick and agile, making them hard to track.
- Ambush Tactics: Often hides and attacks from unexpected positions.
- Bleeding Attack: Their melee attacks frequently cause the 'Bleeding' status effect, which drains health rapidly.
- Low Health: Relatively fragile once hit, but difficult to land shots.
- Found Indoors/Dense Areas: Common in buildings, tunnels, and dense forests.
Strategy:
- Listen Carefully: Crawlers make distinct scuttling sounds. Listen for them, especially in tight spaces.
- Stay Alert Indoors: Always be prepared for an ambush when entering buildings or confined areas.
- Use Shotguns/SMGs: Their high rate of fire or wide spread is effective against fast-moving targets at close range.
- Melee Counter: If caught off guard, a powerful melee swing can sometimes stagger them, giving you a chance to finish them off.
- Heal Bleeding Immediately: If you get hit and start bleeding, use a 'Bandage' as soon as it's safe. Bleeding can quickly kill you.
- Backpedal and Fire: If a Crawler gets close, try to backpedal while continuously firing to maintain some distance and land shots.
Crawlers are less of a 'boss' and more of a persistent, dangerous nuisance that can quickly overwhelm an unprepared player. Their ability to inflict bleeding makes them particularly deadly, so always have bandages ready.
