Crafting and upgrading are core mechanics in Monster Hunter Rise. You'll primarily interact with the Smithy for weapons and armor, and your Item Pouch for consumables.

The Smithy:

  • Forge Weapons: Create new weapons from monster parts and ore.
  • Upgrade Weapons: Improve existing weapons, often changing their appearance and stats. This is the primary way to progress your weapon tree.
  • Forge Armor: Create new armor pieces.
  • Upgrade Armor: Use Armor Spheres to increase an armor piece's defense.
  • Rampage Skills: Add special skills to Rampage Weapons.
  • Decorations: Craft jewels to slot into armor and weapons.

Item Pouch Crafting:

You can craft many consumable items on the fly during a hunt. Ensure you have the necessary raw materials (e.g., Herbs, Blue Mushrooms, Honey) in your Item Pouch. The 'Crafting List' in your menu shows all available recipes.

Key Materials:

  • Monster Parts: Obtained by hunting monsters (carves, rewards, broken parts).
  • Ore: Mined from mining outcrops.
  • Bones: Gathered from bonepiles.
  • Plants/Mushrooms/Bugs: Gathered from various nodes in the environment.

Always gather resources during quests and expeditions to ensure you have a steady supply for crafting.
