Attack Patterns & Strategies:

The Great Izuchi is your first large monster and serves as a good introduction to monster hunting. It's relatively slow and its attacks are well-telegraphed.

  • Tail Swipe: Its most common attack. It will often do a double tail swipe. Dodge through or away from it.
  • Pounce: It will jump forward and try to pounce on you. This is a good opening for a counter-attack if you dodge correctly.
  • Minion Call: It frequently calls smaller Izuchi to assist. Prioritize taking out these smaller monsters as they can be annoying and interrupt your attacks.
  • Wirebug Counter: Use your Wirebug to quickly reposition or escape its tail swipes.
  • Weak Points: Focus on its head for stun damage (blunt weapons) and its tail. Severing the tail will reduce its reach.

Recommended Gear:

  • Any basic weapon with decent sharpness.
  • Kamura or Izuchi armor for early defense and Attack Boost.
