Weapons in Monster Hunter Rise follow intricate upgrade trees. Starting from basic ore or bone weapons, you'll branch out into various monster-specific weapons. Each weapon has unique stats, sharpness (for melee), elemental damage, and sometimes status effects.
Weapon Trees:
- Upgrade Paths: Weapons typically have multiple upgrade paths. You might start with an 'Iron Sword' and eventually upgrade it into a 'Rathalos Firesword' or a 'Nargacuga Long Sword'.
- Material Requirements: Each upgrade requires specific monster parts, ore, or other materials.
- Revert/Forge: You can revert a weapon to an earlier stage to try a different upgrade path, or directly forge a new weapon if you have the materials.
Rampage Skills:
Rampage Weapons (crafted from Defender Tickets) and some other weapons can have 'Rampage Skills' slotted into them. These are powerful passive bonuses that can significantly enhance your weapon's performance. Examples include: Attack Boost, Affinity Boost, Elemental Boost, Anti-Species (e.g., Anti-Aerial Species for extra damage against flying monsters).
Choose Rampage Skills that complement your weapon and target monster.
