Farming XP & Zenny Efficiently
Maximizing your experience points (XP) and Zenny (the in-game currency) is essential for a smooth progression through Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection. Efficient farming methods can significantly speed up your journey, allowing you to craft better gear and strengthen your Monsties faster. The most straightforward way to gain XP and Zenny is by completing quests from the Quest Board in towns like Kamura Village. High-rank quests, once unlocked, offer substantially more rewards, but they also present a greater challenge.
Beyond quests, engaging in free-roam monster hunts is a highly effective strategy. Certain monsters, particularly those found in specific regions like the Coral Highlands or the Rotten Vale, are known to drop a good amount of Zenny upon defeat. For instance, repeatedly hunting a pack of Kulu-Ya-Ku can yield a steady income of Zenny, along with valuable materials. To further boost your XP gains, ensure your Monsties are actively participating in battles. Each Monstie gains XP based on its performance, so switching them out frequently can help level up your entire roster more evenly.
Consider utilizing specific items and skills that enhance your farming efforts. The Lucky Charm consumable, for example, can temporarily increase the Zenny dropped by monsters. Some Monsties might also possess abilities that boost XP gain or material drop rates. Furthermore, don't overlook the value of selling unwanted monster parts at the shop. While it might seem minor, accumulating these sales can contribute significantly to your Zenny reserves. For a more targeted approach, identify monsters that drop high-value items, such as Nargacuga Tail or Rathalos Plate, and focus your hunts on them. These rare drops can be sold for a substantial amount of Zenny, funding your most ambitious gear upgrades.
