Chapter 2: The Azure Divide
The corrupted crystal from the Elder's Den has unleashed a wave of chaotic energy, fracturing the landscape and creating the Azure Divide, a chasm of unstable elemental forces. This new region is characterized by floating islands, treacherous winds, and pockets of intense elemental energy. Your quest now is to understand the nature of this divide and find a way to stabilize it, preventing further destruction. Elder Maeve suspects a powerful entity is manipulating these energies, and its influence is growing stronger.
As you traverse the Azure Divide, you'll encounter monsters adapted to this volatile environment. Expect to face the likes of the Qurupeco, known for its ability to call for reinforcements, and the agile Great Wroggi. Qurupeco is particularly vulnerable to Technical attacks, while Great Wroggi can be stunned with well-timed Power attacks. The environment itself poses a threat; certain areas are saturated with Fire or Thunder element, which can inflict status effects like Burn or Paralysis if you lack the appropriate resistances. Crafting armor with elemental resistance at the Workshop using materials like Firestone and Thunderbug parts is highly recommended. You'll need to navigate across several floating islands, often requiring the use of your Monstie's unique traversal abilities, such as a flying Monstie to bridge gaps. Your primary objective is to reach the Sky Temple, a structure perched precariously on the largest island, where the source of the divide's instability is believed to reside. Along the way, you'll need to defeat a trio of enraged Zinogre that have been empowered by the chaotic energies.
