Chapter 3: The Twisted Forest
The Sky Temple offered no easy answers, only more questions and a lingering sense of dread. The energies unleashed by the Azure Divide have now seeped into the ancient Twisted Forest, a place already known for its eerie atmosphere and dense foliage. The forest's natural inhabitants are becoming increasingly aggressive, and a dark, corrupting influence is visibly twisting the flora and fauna into grotesque forms. The Twin Prophecy's darker aspects seem to be manifesting here, threatening to consume the land entirely.
The Twisted Forest is a maze of overgrown paths and shadowed clearings. Visibility is often low, making ambushes a constant threat. Monsters like the Nargacuga, known for its speed and evasive maneuvers, and the venomous Gigginox, which can inflict poison with its attacks, are prevalent. Nargacuga is susceptible to Power attacks, while Gigginox can be countered with Speed attacks and requires careful management of your poison resistance. You'll need to gather specific herbs, such as the rare Moonpetal Blossom, which only grows in areas touched by the corrupted energy, to craft an antidote for a potent forest toxin. The forest floor is littered with poisonous spores that deal 5 damage per second if you are not protected. Your ultimate goal in this chapter is to locate the heart of the corruption within the forest – a corrupted ancient tree known as the World Ash. To reach it, you must first clear out the four corrupted Barioth that are fiercely guarding the main path, their icy breath now infused with a dark, necrotic energy.
