Armor in Monster Hunter Wilds provides crucial defense and grants hunters various skills to aid them in hunts. Forging and upgrading armor are vital for facing stronger monsters. The Upgrading Armor system, unlocked by speaking with Gemma, allows hunters to use Armor Spheres to increase defense. Additionally, Talismans can be equipped to grant desired skills, further customizing a hunter's build.

After completing the "Toward Fervent Fields" mission and slaying Rompopolo, speaking with Gemma unlocks the Upgrading Armor system. This allows you to enhance your armor's defense using Armor Spheres and collected materials. Talismans also become available, providing specific skills when equipped.

  • Armor Forging/Upgrading: This function is unlocked during progression, specifically after speaking with Gemma during the "An Unforseen Storm" mission.
  • Armor Spheres: Used to increase the level and defense of your armor.
  • Talismans: Equipping a talisman grants specific skills to your hunter.
  • Set Bonuses: Certain armor sets, like the Bale α Armor, grant set bonus skills such as "Soul of the Dark Knight."
  • Special Actions: The "Soul of the Dark Knight" skill activates "The Blackest Night" ability, which consumes health to generate a powerful barrier.
  • Armor Transcendence: This is an advanced system for armor enhancement.
