Elemental Blights are status effects in Monster Hunter Wilds that can sificantly hinder a hunter's performance during combat. These blights are inflicted by monsters that wield elemental attacks, such as fire, water, thunder, ice, and dragon. Each blight has a distinct negative effect, altering a hunter's abilities and making them more vulnerable to subsequent attacks.

For example, the Fireblight causes hunters to take continuous damage over time, while Waterblight slows down stamina recovery. Thunderblight can increase the time it takes to perform actions, and Iceblight can impede movement. Dragonblight, often associated with elder dragons, can suppress the effectiveness of hunter abilities. Understanding how to cure or mitigate these blights is crucial for survival.

To counter Elemental Blights, hunters can consume specific items like Nulberries for elemental blights (except Dragonblight, which may require specialized items or skills), or utilize skills that provide elemental resistance. Some armor sets and decorations offer innate resistance to certain elements, making them invaluable for facing monsters that frequently inflict these status effects. Learning to manage and overcome Elemental Blights is a key aspect of mastering combat in Monster Hunter Wilds.
