Ceratonoth: A Herd Under Threat
The Ceratonoth are large, herbivorous creatures often found in herds across Monster Hunter Wilds' diverse landscapes. While generally docile, they can become a target for more aggressive monsters and opportunistic predators. Protecting these herds or gathering resources from them might become part of your hunting endeavors, requiring careful engagement to avoid collateral damage or unnecessary conflict.
During your journey, you might encounter a situation where a herd of Ceratonoth is under attack by smaller, more aggressive monsters like the Bulaqchi. Upon returning to Base Camp and speaking with Alma, you'll be directed to meet Zatoh by the gates. Shortly after, you'll witness a swarm of Bulaqchi attacking the Ceratonoth herd. The Guild will then authorize you to neutralize this threat, updating your objective to slay seven Bulaqchi. Despite being classified as small monsters, the Bulaqchi are dangerous in large groups. A key strategy against them is their sensitivity to loud noises, which can often immobilize them. After clearing the area, a cutscene will play, and your objective will update, prompting you to return to the main Base Camp.
At Base Camp, you'll then proceed to the Provisions Manager, Jack, to deliver the collected honey. In return, Jack will provide you with several essential items: a Portable BBQ Grill, Fishing Rod, Binoculars, Capture Net, Throwing Knife, Paint Pod, and Ghillie Mantle. You can review the functions of these items in the 'Play Guide' within your Start Menu. Following this, the Provisions Shop will officially open, allowing you to purchase items. Afterward, visit Gemma at the Smithy to receive 2 Iron Ore and to examine her inventory for potential weapon upgrades or new forging options.
