What Lies Ahead in Monster Hunter Wilds
The latest Title Update 3 introduces new story content, endemic life, and unique equipment. Hunters can delve into a crossover story featuring characters from FINAL FANTASY XIV Online, encounter new creatures, and acquire powerful armor and weapon skills. This time-limited content offers exclusive rewards for those who brave its challenges.
The new story arc introduces "Alpha" and "Omega" from Eorzea. To participate, hunters must be at Hunter Rank 41 or above and complete the main mission "What Lies Ahead." Meeting Alpha in-game unlocks a special extra mission in the Iceshard Cliffs.
New endemic life, including Cactuars and Malboros from Eorzea, now appear in the Wilds, providing new materials.
Hunters can acquire the Bale Alpha Armor Set, which grants the set bonus skill "Soul of the Dark Knight." This skill activates "The Blackest Night," an ability cast from the item bar that consumes health to generate a powerful barrier. The great sword "Shadowbringer" also features a unique weapon skill.
The Soul of the Pictomancer allows hunters to cast pictomancy spells like "Pom Motif" from the item bar. Combining drawn motifs unleashes the powerful spell "Mog of Ages." Obtain the Soul of the Pictomancer by completing the new Extra Missions.
