Furious Rajang Strategy Guide
The Furious Rajang is an even more enraged and dangerous variant of the already formidable Rajang in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. This golden-furred primate is a whirlwind of pure aggression, characterized by its incredibly fast attacks, devastating electrical power, and relentless pursuit. Mastering this fight requires exceptional reflexes and a deep understanding of its punishing combos.
Key Weaknesses: Furious Rajang is highly resistant to most elements, but it is still susceptible to Ice damage. Its head is its primary weak point, but hitting it is incredibly difficult due to its speed. Breaking its horns is crucial to reducing its offensive capabilities.
Attack Patterns to Watch For:
- Rapid Punches and Kicks: Furious Rajang unleashes a barrage of incredibly fast punches and kicks. These can be difficult to dodge due to their speed and unpredictable nature.
- Ground Pound: It will often leap into the air and slam down, creating a shockwave.
- Laser Beam: Its sature move is a devastating, pinpoint laser beam fired from its mouth. This attack is extremely powerful and has a very quick charge-up time.
- Grab Attack: Furious Rajang can grab hunters and crush them. This is a highly damaging attack with a distinct wind-up.
- Enraged State (Golden Fur): When Furious Rajang's fur turns golden, it enters its most dangerous state. Its speed increases dramatically, its attacks hit harder, and its laser beam becomes even more potent. It will also gain access to its devastating Super Laser.
- Super Laser: In its fully enraged state, Furious Rajang can unleash a massive, sweeping laser beam that covers a huge area. This is often a fight-ending attack if not avoided.
Combat Tips:
- Focus on Dodging: Your primary focus should be on evading its relentless onslaught. Learn the timing of its attacks and utilize your dodge rolls effectively.
- Exploit the Horn Break: Breaking its horns is paramount. This will temporarily stun it and prevent it from entering its fully enraged state as quickly.
- Patience is Key: Do not get greedy. Look for very small openings after it finishes a combo to land a few hits.
- Use the Environment: Utilize ledges for aerial attacks or any environmental traps available to create openings.
- Guard is Risky: Guarding against Furious Rajang's attacks is generally not recommended due to the high stamina drain and potential for chip damage.
- Ice Element Weapons: While its resistances are high, Ice element weapons will offer the best elemental damage.
Recommended Gear: Armor with high Thunder Resistance can help mitigate some of its electrical damage. Skills like Evade Window, Evade Extender, and Health Boost are invaluable. Consider weapons with Ice element to maximize your damage output.
