Decoration Farming Guide
Decorations are the lifeblood of min-maxing your builds in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. These small trinkets slot into your armor and weapons, providing crucial skills that can define your hunting effectiveness. Farming for the right decorations can be a long and sometimes arduous process, but with the right strategies, you can significantly improve your chances of acquiring the ones you need.
The primary method for obtaining decorations is through melding at the Smithy, specifically using Warped Feystones and Elder's Melding Tickets. These items are obtained from various endgame activities.
Key Activities for Decoration Farming:
- Event Quests: Keep an eye on the event quest schedule. Many limited-time quests offer high rewards of Warped Feystones and Elder's Melding Tickets. Quests like "The Greatest Jagras" (when available) and "The Name's Lavasioth!" are legendary for their decoration drop rates.
- The Guiding Lands: As you progress through the Guiding Lands, you'll encounter monsters that drop valuable materials, including those used in melding. Certain monster encounters in the Guiding Lands can also yield Spiritvein Gems, which are essential for augmenting weapons and can sometimes be traded for melding materials.
- Tempered Investigations: Higher-rank Tempered Monster Investigations, particularly those involving multiple monsters or Elder Dragons, often reward Sealed Feystones and Warped Feystones. Focus on investigations with good rewards and manageable difficulty.
- Glavenus/Acidic Glavenus Investigations: These monsters are known to drop a good amount of Warped Feystones.
Melding Strategies:
- Elder's Melding Tickets: These are incredibly valuable. Prioritize using them in the "Elder's Dragonvein Melding" option at the Smithy, as they offer the best chance at rare decorations.
- Warped Feystones: Use these in the "Wisp of Mystery Melding" or "Heroic Melding" options. While the drop rates are lower than Elder's Melding Tickets, they are more readily available.
- Targeted Melding: If you have specific decorations you're desperate for, you can sometimes target specific melding processes that have a higher chance of yielding those types of decorations, though this is less common for the rarest ones.
Patience is key. Decoration farming is a marathon, not a sprint. Focus on completing several endgame content, and you'll gradually accumulate the decorations needed to perfect your builds.
