Triumphs of the Hunt: Understanding Achievements

While Monster Hunter World: Iceborne doesn't feature traditional in-game achievements that unlock trophies or achievements on your platform (like PlayStation Trophies or Xbox Achievements), the game does have a robust system of Titles and Mentions that serve a similar purpose. These are earned by accomplishing specific feats, from defeating certain monsters to gathering vast quantities of resources.

These Titles and Mentions are displayed on your Hunter's Guild Card, a profile card that other players see when you join their quests or they join yours. Earning unique Titles can be a significant source of pride and a way to showcase your dedication and skill to the Monster Hunter community.

Key areas where you'll earn these accolades include:

  • Monster Hunter Milestones: Defeating specific numbers of monsters, including rare species and elder dragons, will unlock titles. For instance, hunting a certain number of Rathalos or Teostra will grant you specific titles related to those monsters.
  • Gathering and Crafting: Amassing large quantities of materials, crafting a certain number of weapons or armor pieces, or completing specific research tasks will also be recognized.
  • Quest Completion: Successfully finishing a large number of optional quests, investigations, or even specific event quests can lead to titles.
  • Exploration: Fully exploring all areas of the Ancient Forest, Wildspire Waste, Coral Highlands, and other locales will also be acknowledged.

The game also tracks your progress in various categories, often displayed in your Hunter's Notes. While not directly tied to a "trophy," achieving high ranks or completing these internal tracking goals often correlates with earning the most prestigious Titles.

To view your earned Titles and Mentions, access your Hunter's Notes from the item box or your player menu. You can then select the "Titles" or "Mentions" section to see what you've unlocked and what you're still working towards. Choosing and equipping these titles allows you to personalize your Guild Card and make a statement to fellow hunters.
