Armor Skills & Decorations

Optimizing your hunter's performance in Monster Hunter World involves strategic use of armor skills and decorations. Unlocking new quests and content, especially for Master Rank, often depends on various factors such as researching monsters, completing optional quests, and progressing through assignments.

To maximize your potential and unlock new content, consider the following:

  • Master Rank Monster Discovery: Finding Master Rank monsters contributes to their own discovery progress.

  • Capturing Monsters: Capturing Master Rank monsters yields more rewards than slaying them. Unless a quest specifically requires a slay, always aim to capture the target monster(s).

  • Villager Interactions: Speak with villagers marked with a (!) in Seliana or at the Research Station; these interactions often unlock new quests.

  • Optional Quest Completion: Completing already owned Optional Quests can unlock new content, including additional quests.

  • Ecological Research: Fully researching monsters (all 4 tabs in the monster manual) may be necessary to unlock certain quests, particularly those related to Mantle Upgrades. Refer to Ecological Research for more information.

  • Assignment Progress: Your current progress level in Master Rank Assignments can limit access to certain optional quests. The same applies to Special Assignments.

  • "Purr-fect" Quests: All quests with "Purr-fect" in their name reward In-Room Decorations.
