An Unlikely Encounter (Assigned Quest)

The quest "An Unlikely Encounter" often begins with a seemingly simple task that quickly escalates into a significant monster hunt. This quest serves as an introduction to larger threats and the importance of adapting your hunting strategies. It also highlights the dynamic nature of the ecosystem, where one hunt can lead directly into another.

What begins as a hunt for Kestodon morphs into the Great Jagras Hunt. You will observe a Great Jagras appearing to gobble up a nearby herbivore. From this point, you can either return to town to start the Great Jagras quest as a new venture or continue directly from "A Kestodon Kerfuffle" to tackle two quests in one trip.

In this expedition, you will meet up with a hunter in the north-east corner of the map in zone 12. This hunter will show you a new location for a possible camp. Upon arrival, you will discover that a Kulu Ya-Ku has made it its home. After a short cutscene, your objective will be to hunt down the Kulu Ya-Ku to properly establish a camp in the area.
