Play Now is your gateway to experiencing NBA 2K24 without any lengthy setup or career progression. From the main menu, select "Play Now" to be taken to a screen where you can choose between two primary options: "Play Now" and "Quick Play." Quick Play is desed for the absolute fastest way to get into a game. It often defaults to two popular teams or allows you to quickly select any two NBA teams from the current rosters. You can then immediately start a game, typically with default settings. This is ideal for a quick exhibition match or to test out new players or strategies without any fuss. The focus here is purely on the on-court action.
The "Play Now" option within this mode offers a bit more customization before tip-off. Here, you can select your home and away teams from the full roster of NBA teams. You can also choose the specific roster you wish to play with, whether it's the default current-season roster, classic teams, or even custom rosters you've created or downloaded. Further customization options include setting the game quarter length, difficulty level (Rookie, Pro, All-Star, Superstar, Hall of Fame), and whether to enable injuries or other simulation settings. You can also select the arena where the game will take place and even the specific uniform combinations for each team. Once your selections are made, you'll proceed directly to the game, ready to compete.
