NBA 2K24 offers various immersive game modes beyond the main career path, allowing players to engage in diverse basketball experiences. These include MyCAREER, MyTEAM, and MyNBA, each providing unique ways to live out NBA dreams. A notable addition is the "Mamba Moments" mode, which focuses on Kobe Bryant's greatest accomplishments, similar to the classic Jordan Challenges.

MyTEAM, the card-collecting mode, has received significant updates to enhance player engagement and flexibility. These updates, driven by community feedback, introduce several new features and improvements:

  • MTP Upgrades: Earn rates for MyTEAM Points (MTP) have been greatly improved across all modes, providing more resources for players.
  • Salary Cap: A new multiplayer mode within MyTEAM. It features three, two-week rounds per Season, each with its own leaderboard, a salary limit for player lineups, and unique rewards.
  • New Player Market: This replaces the Auction House, allowing players to acquire player cards directly using Virtual Currency (VC) or MTP. This change aims to create a level playing field and offer more team customization options.
  • Key Changes to Pack Market: The Pack Market now features improved odds for rare Player Cards and includes more options for guaranteed pulls with fan-favorite pack types.
  • XP System Overhaul: Experience Point (XP) progression is now shared between MyCAREER and MyTEAM. Players earn XP simply by completing MyTEAM games, regardless of a win or loss, contributing to Season level progression.
  • Crossplay: For the first time, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players can compete against each other or team up in Triple Threat Online: Co-Op, leading to shorter queues and improved matchmaking.
