All Endings Achievement Guide
NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139... is renowned for its multiple, impactful endings, each requiring specific actions and playthroughs to unlock. Achieving all of them is a sificant undertaking and a key objective for completionists. The game features five distinct endings, labeled A through E, with endings B through E building upon the events and narrative progression of ending A.
Ending A: The NieR Gestalt - This is the standard ending, achieved by completing the game's main story for the first time. Simply play through the narrative until the final boss encounter and defeat them. No special conditions are required.
Ending B: The Echo of a Soul - To unlock Ending B, you must first achieve Ending A. After seeing Ending A, reload your save file. The game will continue from a point before the final boss, but with new dialogue, cutscenes, and gameplay segments that flesh out the story from a different perspective. Complete the game again to witness Ending B.
Ending C: The Promise of the Profane - After achieving Ending B, reload your save file once more. The game will again continue from a point before the final boss, but with further narrative developments and new boss encounters. You will need to make a specific choice during the final sequence to steer towards either Ending C or Ending D. To get Ending C, choose to fight for the protagonist's memories. Complete the game after this choice to achieve Ending C.
Ending D: The Regret of the Profane - To obtain Ending D, follow the same steps as for Ending C. However, during the final sequence, when presented with the choice, select the option to sacrifice your memories. Completing the game after this choice will lead to Ending D. Note that after viewing Ending D, you will be prompted to delete your save file, which is necessary for accessing Ending E.
Ending E: The Echoes of the World - This is the true final ending and requires specific conditions. First, you must have achieved both Ending C and Ending D. After viewing Ending D and agreeing to delete your save file, you will enter a unique sequence. During this sequence, you will play as a different character and engage in a meta-narrative challenge. Successfully complete this challenge, which involves a series of text-based battles and narrative choices, to unlock Ending E. This ending is a meta-commentary on the nature of games and player agency, and it requires a sificant emotional and narrative investment.
