Cultivation Seeds & Grow Times
Cultivating crops in your garden in NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139... is a unique and rewarding mechanic that provides a steady income and essential ingredients for certain quests and item upgrades. Understanding the different types of seeds and their respective growth cycles is crucial for maximizing your yield.
You begin with basic seeds, such as "Tomato Seeds". These are acquired from the grocer in the Village. Planting Tomato Seeds in your garden plots will yield Tomatoes, which can be sold for a decent profit. The initial growth time for Tomatoes is relatively short, typically around 24 in-game hours. As you progress, you'll unlock the ability to purchase more advanced seeds. "Lettuce Seeds" are another early-game crop, also available from the Village grocer. Lettuce has a similar growth time to Tomatoes, making them a good complementary crop for consistent income. Both Tomatoes and Lettuce require watering daily to ensure optimal growth and prevent wilting.
For more valuable crops, you'll need to acquire rarer seeds. "Eggplant Seeds" can be purchased from the grocer in Seafront. These take slightly longer to grow, usually around 48 in-game hours, but they fetch a higher price when sold. The key to successful cultivation lies in consistent watering and, eventually, the use of fertilizer. There are two types of fertilizer: "Fertilizer" and "Magic Fertilizer". Fertilizer speeds up the growth process by approximately 25%, while Magic Fertilizer can sificantly shorten growth times and even influence the quality of the harvested produce, potentially yielding rarer variants. For instance, using Magic Fertilizer on Tomato Seeds can sometimes result in "Golden Tomatoes," which are worth considerably more. The longest growing crops are typically those required for specific quests or high-level weapon upgrades, such as the rare "Lunar Tears". These seeds are exceptionally rare and can take up to 72 in-game hours to mature, even with the aid of fertilizer. Remember that the game tracks time when you are actively playing or when the game is loaded. Sleeping in your house or fast-traveling does not sificantly advance crop growth; you need to be actively engaged in gameplay for the in-game clock to tick by.
