Walkthrough: Chapter 10: The Aquaduct
Welcome to Chapter 10, Ninja! This chapter sees you navigating the treacherous Aquaduct, a watery labyrinth filled with new enemies and hidden secrets. Prepare for underwater combat and precise platforming.
Initial Descent and First Encounters
- From the start of the chapter, you'll find yourself in a large, circular chamber. Drop down into the water below.
- Immediately upon entering the water, you'll be attacked by several Water Worms. These enemies are quick and can be annoying in the water. Use your underwater attacks (X or Y) to dispatch them. The Lunar Staff or Dragon Sword are effective here.
- Swim through the underwater tunnel directly ahead. You'll emerge in a larger, open area.
- Look for a small alcove on the right side of this area. Inside, you'll find a chest containing a Devil Way Mushroom.
- Continue swimming forward, following the main path of the Aquaduct.
The Rotating Mechanism Puzzle
You'll soon reach a section with a large, rotating mechanism and several platforms. This is a key puzzle to progress.
- First Platform: Climb out of the water onto the first stable platform. You'll likely encounter more Water Worms here.
- Lever Activation: Locate the lever on this platform. Interact with it to activate the rotating mechanism. This will cause a series of platforms to move into position.
- Platforming Challenge: Carefully jump across the moving platforms. Timing is crucial here. If you fall, you'll land back in the water and have to climb up again.
- Second Platform & Item: On the second stable platform you reach, look for a chest. It contains a Talisman of Rebirth – a valuable item that revives you upon death!
- Third Platform & Door: Continue across the remaining moving platforms to reach the third stable platform. A door here will now be accessible.
Beyond the Rotating Mechanism
- Enter the newly opened door. You'll find yourself in a long, submerged corridor.
- Underwater Combat: This corridor is heavily guarded by Water Worms and a new enemy type: Aqua Fiends. Aqua Fiends are larger, more resilient, and can fire projectiles. Focus on dodging their attacks and using powerful underwater combos.
- Hidden Item: About halfway through this corridor, look for a small, recessed area on the left wall. Swim into it to find a chest containing a Great Spirit Elixir.
- Exit the Corridor: Continue to the end of the corridor and swim up to the surface.
The Grand Chamber and Boss Preparation
You'll surface in a vast, circular chamber with several exits. This area often serves as a prelude to a significant encounter.
- Save Point: Immediately upon surfacing, look for a Dragon Save Statue. Save your game here; a boss fight is imminent.
- Muramasa's Shop: To the left of the save statue, you'll find Muramasa's Shop. Now is an excellent time to stock up on healing items (Great Spirit Elixirs, Life of the Gods) and upgrade your weapons. Consider upgrading your Dragon Sword or Lunar Staff if you haven't already.
- Essence Farming (Optional): If you need more essence for upgrades, you can re-enter the previous underwater corridor. The enemies there will respawn, allowing you to farm for a bit.
- Path Forward: Once you're prepared, head through the large archway opposite Muramasa's Shop. This leads to the next section of the Aquaduct and the chapter's boss.
