Walkthrough: Chapter 5: The Path to Zarkhan
Welcome, Ninja, to Chapter 5! This chapter marks a significant shift in the game's environment and introduces new, more aggressive enemy types. Be prepared for a tougher challenge and make sure your weapon upgrades are current. We'll be navigating through the perilous Zarkhan Falls and facing some formidable foes.
Starting Out: Zarkhan Falls Entrance
You begin this chapter at the entrance to Zarkhan Falls. Take a moment to survey your surroundings. There's a Save Point nearby – always a good idea to use it before venturing into new territory. To your right, you'll find a chest containing a Devil Way Mushroom. This item can be incredibly useful in a pinch, so don't overlook it.
- Save Point: Immediately available upon starting the chapter.
- Item: Devil Way Mushroom (in a chest to the right of the starting point).
The First Gauntlet: Waterfall Ascent
Proceed forward, and you'll encounter your first set of enemies: a group of Red Ninjas. These guys are faster and more aggressive than the standard Ninjas you've faced before. Utilize your combos and Ninpo effectively. After dispatching them, you'll need to wall-run up the waterfall. This requires precise timing and execution. Look for the glowing spots on the wall that indicate viable wall-run paths.
- Enemies: Red Ninjas (multiple).
- Strategy: Focus on quick combos and evasive maneuvers. The Izuna Drop is highly effective against them.
- Navigation: Wall-run up the waterfall. Aim for the glowing sections.
The Broken Bridge and the Great Bridge
Once you reach the top of the waterfall, you'll find yourself on a broken bridge. More Red Ninjas will ambush you here. Clear them out, then look for a path leading to the Great Bridge. As you cross the Great Bridge, expect another wave of enemies, including some new, larger demon types. These demons are slow but hit hard, so prioritize dodging their attacks and counter-attacking when openings appear.

- Strategy: For the Large Demons, use hit-and-run tactics. Charge attacks with your Dragon Sword can break their guard.
The Zarkhan Temple Gates
After crossing the Great Bridge, you'll arrive at the formidable Zarkhan Temple Gates. This area is heavily guarded. Expect a prolonged fight against a mix of Red Ninjas and the larger demons. Once the area is clear, you'll notice the gates are locked. To open them, you'll need to find a specific mechanism.
- Location: Zarkhan Temple Gates.
- Enemies: Mixed group of Red Ninjas and Large Demons.
- Objective: Clear the area, then locate the mechanism to open the gates.
Finding the Temple Key
To the left of the main gates, there's a small, overgrown path. Follow this path, and you'll come across a hidden alcove. Inside, you'll find a chest containing the Zarkhan Temple Key. Be wary, as this area is often guarded by a few surprise enemies.

Inside Zarkhan Temple: The Courtyard
Use the Zarkhan Temple Key to open the gates. As you enter the temple courtyard, you'll be greeted by a new enemy: the Fiend Ninjas. These enemies are incredibly fast and can teleport, making them difficult to hit. Focus on defensive maneuvers and counter-attacks. The Wind Path Ninpo can be effective here for crowd control.

The Inner Sanctum and Chapter Boss
After clearing the courtyard, proceed through the main doors into the Inner Sanctum. This is where you'll face the chapter's boss. Prepare for a challenging fight! Ensure your health is full, your Ninpo is charged, and you have any useful items equipped. The boss's strategy will be detailed in the next section of the guide.
