Exosuit & Personal Survival in No Man's Sky
Your Exosuit is your lifeline in the harsh environments of No Man's Sky. It provides essential life support, hazard protection, and inventory space, making its management and upgrades critical for survival and exploration. Keeping your Exosuit in top condition is paramount.
Life Support: This system maintains your oxygen levels. When it depletes, your health will begin to decrease. You can recharge your Life Support using Life Support Gel, which can be crafted from Carbon, or by finding Oxygen. Upgrading your Exosuit's Life Support modules increases its efficiency and capacity.
Hazard Protection: As detailed in the Hazard Protection Management section, your Exosuit has specialized protection against Thermal (hot/cold), Radiation, Toxic, and Corrosive environments. Each type of protection can be recharged individually using specific items or universal Hazard Protection Batteries. Installing S-class Hazard Protection modules sificantly boosts your resistance and the duration of protection.
Inventory Management: Your Exosuit has a limited inventory. Upgrading your Exosuit's inventory slots is crucial for carrying more resources, crafting materials, and valuable items. These upgrades are purchased at Space Stations using Nanites. There are three types of inventory slots: General, Cargo, and Technology. Cargo slots are typically used for stackable resources and trade goods, while Technology slots are reserved for installed upgrades.
Exosuit Upgrades:
- Technology Slots: Purchase additional Technology slots at Space Stations to install more Exosuit upgrades.
- General Slots: Purchase additional General slots to increase your carrying capacity for resources and items.
- Cargo Slots: Purchase additional Cargo slots for larger stacks of resources.
- Specialized Modules: Beyond basic survival, you can install modules for jetpack efficiency (Jump Jet), sprint speed (Sprint Upgrade), and even specialized scanners.
