Trading Starships:
You can acquire new starships in several ways:
- Purchasing: Visit Space Stations or planetary landing pads where pilots offer their ships for sale. Prices vary greatly based on ship class, type, and inventory slots.
- Finding Crashed Ships: Occasionally, you'll find crashed starships on planets. These can be repaired (often partially) and flown, or salvaged for valuable components.
- Claiming Freighters: While not directly traded, freighters can be acquired and later sold, though this is a more complex process.
Once you own a starship, you can trade it in at a Space Station. The trade-in value will be a percentage of the ship's original purchase price, and it can be used as credit towards a new ship. Ships with higher classes (A, S) and more inventory slots will fetch a better trade-in value.
Trading Multi-Tools:
Multi-Tools are acquired similarly:
- Space Station Vendors: Purchase new Multi-Tools from vendors in Space Stations. Their stats and available slots vary.
- Planetary Cabinets: These often contain Multi-Tools for sale, sometimes with unique stats or weapon configurations.
- Mission Rewards: Certain missions may reward you with a new Multi-Tool.
Like starships, Multi-Tools can be traded in at Space Stations. The trade-in value depends on the Multi-Tool's class and the number of technology slots it possesses. Investing in a higher-class Multi-Tool with more slots upfront can lead to a better return when you eventually upgrade.
Maximizing Profit:
- Focus on S-Class: S-Class ships and Multi-Tools are the most valuable and perform the best.
- Upgrade Inventory: Expanding the inventory slots of your ships and Multi-Tools increases their value.
- Repair Crashed Ships: Fully repairing a crashed ship before trading it in can sificantly increase its trade-in value.
