Managing Multiple Bases & Freighters
As your interstellar journey progresses, you'll accumulate more resources, discover new planets, and find yourself establishing multiple bases and acquiring a freighter. Efficiently managing these assets is crucial for maintaining order, optimizing resource flow, and ensuring you can access your belongings from anywhere in the galaxy.
Base Management:
- Strategic Placement: When establishing new bases, consider their purpose and location. A base near a valuable resource deposit, a trading post, or a quest hub can be highly beneficial. Don't be afraid to build small, functional outposts for quick resource gathering or temporary shelter.
- Teleporters: The Teleport Module is your best friend for managing multiple bases. Ensure every base has a teleporter. This allows you to instantly travel between any of your bases, your freighter, and any Space Station you've visited.
- Organization: Within each base, organize your storage containers. Dedicate specific containers for different resource types (e.g., Minerals, Gases, Organic Materials, Crafted Components). This makes finding what you need much faster.
- Power Management: For bases with many modules, ensure you have adequate power generation. Consider using a combination of solar panels and electromagnetic generators, or geothermal vents if available.
Freighter Management:
- Fleet Expeditions: Your freighter serves as a mobile command center for your frigates. Regularly send your frigates on expeditions. Check their status upon return for rewards and any necessary repairs.
- Storage: Freighters offer a sificant amount of storage space, often exceeding that of your starship. Utilize this for storing bulk resources or items you don't need immediate access to.
- Base Building on Freighters: You can build a base within your freighter, allowing you to have a mobile home with crafting stations, storage, and even a farm. This is incredibly useful for accessing your resources while on the move.
- Teleport Access: Your freighter also has a teleporter, allowing you to travel to and from it, further integrating it into your base network.
Connecting Your Network:
The key to managing multiple bases and your freighter is the interconnectedness provided by teleporters. By ensuring each base and your freighter has a teleporter, you create a seamless network. This means you can, for example, warp into a new system, land at a space station, use its teleporter to go to your primary base, craft what you need, then use the teleporter there to go to your freighter to manage your fleet, and finally warp to another system. This efficient system management is vital for long-term progression and exploration.
